Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971). A set of four Oxford chairs, aluminium frames and armrests, five-star base with leg caps, fixed seat height with return swivel functionality, shell made in laminated moulded wood, produced by Fritz Hansen 2007, three chair labelled accordingly. H. 93/47 cm. Newly reupholstered in cognac-coloured aniline leather, this was not done at Fritz Hansen but by a professional Danish furniture upholstery. Aniline leather is made from rawhides. In principle, the leather has an entirely natural naked surface, where all the natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grained, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and exposure to light and quickly acquires a natural patina. (4)
