Frits Schlegel. Pair of rare uplight wall lamps in brass and opal glass. (2)

Frits Schlegel (1896-1965). Wall lamp of brass and matt opal glass, H. 18 Ø 20 cm. Designed 1955, made by Lyfa. Shows general signs of age and use, including splashes/small spots of paint; shades with natural unevenness and chipping. F. Schlegel designed an almost identical lamp for the Overformynderiet (1935-37), Holmens Kanal 20, Copenhagen, where the design in relation to the present lamp varies, among other things, with the shape of the wall bracket. Litt. Vibeke Andersson Møller, 'Arkitekten Frits Schlegel', 2004, illustrated p.188.
