Originally made to sit astride a horse. It is made from a dense fine-grained grey pottery that has been cold painted in white, pink, red and black pigments. Such figures originally had wooden articulated arms that have, of course, long since rotted away. Note the detail of the facial features and the hairstyle. Interestingly, to the sole of each foot is the remain of a rusted iron pin. 56 cm tall x 33cm wide at the feet. Reference: an almost identical figure is shown in the book "The Yangling Mausoleum of Emperor Jingdi of the Western Han Dynasty" that also has breaks in similar places.
