This lot has been put up for resale under the new lot no. 5835253 Poul Henningsen 1894-1967. 'Piano lamp' with adjustable swivel frame, counterweight, Bakelite socket and switch housing with in-line, on/off switch. Fitted with intact 2/2 amber coloured glass shade set and bottom bowl. Produced by Louis Poulsen, 1940s, stamped 'PH lamps', 'PH-2' 'Patented'. Later, a long fabric cord was added. Minimal signs of wear considering the age, rebuilt with original PH parts from the fixed circuit breaker to in-line, on/off switch circuit breaker. The arm can be swung downwards, making it ideal for reading a score on a piano. Produced in a limited number of copies in 1931, when the lamp cost DKK 45. Today, together with the American Lamp, it stands as one of the most sought after and rarest PH lamps among collectors worldwide. Literature: Tina Jørstian, Poul Erik Munk Nielsen (Eds.). 'Tænd!: PH lampens historie', a later variant reproduced and discussed on p. 186.
