Widely regarded as one of the defining albums of the hard rock era, In Rock marked the arrival of the classic Mark II line-up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice and includes such enduring tracks as Speed King, Child in Time, Into The Fire and Flight of the Rat. The album remains a cornerstone release in the development of hard rock and heavy metal and is amongst the band's most sought-after studio recordings. Also included is Deep Purple In Concert, a live recording showcasing the band at the height of their powers, featuring extended performances that demonstrate the virtuosity and improvisational brilliance that made them one of the premier live acts of their generation.
