Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971). Set of six armchairs 'Syveren' with shells of bent plywood, frames of chromed tubular steel. Designed 1955. Manufactured by Fritz Hansen, model 3207. Newly upholstered with cognac-coloured aniline leather on shells and armrests. H. 77/44.5 cm. Appears to have been newly upholstered by a professional furniture upholsterer. Aniline leather is made from raw hides. The leather basically has a completely natural bare surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasise the character of the leather.
