Mittet & Co, Oslo MCMXLIX (1949), 264p showing some 120 illustrations of which some 100 whole-page plates, most of them printed in colour, photo illustrations by the publishers and by O Væring, translated into English by Christopher Norman. Original pig-leather-back, gilt title to spine, marbeled boards, dyed top-edge, cover and end-sheets printed from original wood-cuts by by Frithjof Tidemand-Johannessen; some stains and marks of use to spine. "The book was started in 1944, the colour plates were printed in 1948, the work was brought up to date as on 1st September 1949. It was set up in Cochin Type in Kriste's Press on the Saugbrugsforeninge Art Paper and bound by Bokindustri. Two coloured plates by Paul Gauguin and Frithjof Tidemand-Johannessen are printed from original wood-cuts.".
