Stool in National Romantic style designed by architect Martin Nyrop specifically for his masterpiece: Copenhagen City Hall (completed in 1905). Crafted from stained, solid pine with carvings. Metal plaque from "Chr. & Vald. Plum Møbel-Etablissement Kjøbenhavn" which made much of the City Hall's inventory. The establishment was located in Bredgade, Copenhagen and won awards for their work at the World's Fair in Chicago, 1893. The stool also has traces of a metal plaque from Copenhagen City Hall (bearing its inventory number), but the metal plaque has since been removed, likely when the stool was taken home decades ago. Length: 42 cm. Width: 30 cm. Height: 46 cm. Note: The stools were used in the secretaries' offices as extra seating.
