Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971). Oxford office chair, medium high back, height adjustable with tilt, aluminum frame, five-step foot mounted with castors with aluminum cover, shell of laminated molded wood, Made by Fritz Hansen, 2008. Seat H. 41/55 cm. Appears to be newly upholstered with cognac colored aniline leather, this not done by Fritz Hansen, but by a professional Danish furniture upholsterer. Aniline leather is made on raw hides. The leather basically has a completely natural bare surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the leather's unique character. The leather is full grain, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and exposure to light and quickly acquires a natural patina. Frame appears with scratches and marks.
