Originally made to sit astride a horse. Made from a dense fine-grained grey pottery that has been cold painted in pink and black pigments. Such figures originally had wooden articulated arms that have, of course, long since rotted away. 53 cm tall x 23cm wide at the feet. Together with a fitted box. Reference: an almost identical figure is shown in the book "The Yangling Mausoleum of Emperor Jingdi of the Western Han Dynasty".
