Footnote: The Caterpillar Club is an international organization for people whose lives were saved by using a parachute to escape a disabled aircraft. Founded in 1922, the name honors the silkworm caterpillar that produced the silk used in early parachutes, with the famous motto: "Life depends on a silken thread".
