Designed in 1957-1958 as part of the overall design of the Hotel Royal in Copenhagen. Lit. C. Thau & K. Vindum: Arne Jacobsen. Discussed and reproduced p. 469. Newly reupholstered by a different professional furniture upholsterer with cognac-coloured aniline leather with natural structure. Features minor usage-related traces of wear on the frame. Aniline leather is made from rawhides. In principle, the leather has an entirely natural, naked surface upon which all the natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasise the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grained, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and exposure to light and quickly acquires a natural patina.
