A substantial collection of original 7" vinyl singles by Sam Cooke and The Everly Brothers, spanning the late 1950s through to the 1960s and featuring two of the most influential vocal acts of the rock 'n' roll and early soul era. The Sam Cooke section comprises an impressive run of UK releases spanning much of his recording career, including Wonderful World, You Send Me, Cupid, Chain Gang, Bring It On Home To Me, Twistin' The Night Away, Another Saturday Night, Shake, Tennessee Waltz, Meet Me At Mary's Place and numerous other classic recordings. Issued across a variety of period labels including His Master's Voice, London, RCA Victor, RCA, Specialty, Keen and Chérie, the collection also includes a genuine UK HMV white-label demonstration copy of There I've Said It Again, issued for promotional use and not intended for commercial sale. The Everly Brothers group comprises original UK London and Warner Bros. label singles, including Let It Be Me and ('Til) I Kissed You on the desirable London American Recordings label, together with later Warner Bros. releases Love Her and Love Is Strange. Also included are two original UK Everly Brothers EP picture sleeves featuring period London Records branding and contemporary publicity photography. A highly commercial and historically significant collection bringing together two pioneering acts whose influence extended across rock 'n' roll, soul and popular music, with broad appeal to collectors of early American recordings and original UK pressings.
