Arne Jacobsen 1902-1971. Lounge chair, 'The Swan', Model 4325, teak base. Designed in 1960. Produced and stamped by Fritz Hansen for a limited period until 1969. H. 76/38 cm. Literature: Carsten Thau and Kjeld Vindum. 'Arne Jacobsen', 1998, discussed and reproduced on p. 469. Professionally upholstered in cognac-coloured Vacona pure aniline leather. Aniline leather is made of high-quality raw leather. As a rule, the leather has a completely natural stripped surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grain, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and the effects of light, and it quickly develops a naturally beautiful patina.
