Arne Jacobsen 1902-1971. Set of six Oxford lounge chairs, aluminium frame, five-point base with leg tips, fixed seat height with return mechanism, shell in laminated moulded wood. Produced and labelled by Fritz Hansen, 2007. H. 93/47 cm. Recently reupholstered in cognac-coloured aniline leather, not by Fritz Hansen, but by a professional Danish upholsterer. (6) Aniline leather is made of high-quality raw leather. As a rule, the leather has a completely natural stripped surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grain, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and the effects of light, and it quickly develops a naturally beautiful patina.
